Billy Thompson

Director

In 2003, Billy completed his apprenticeship and qualified as a carpenter. Combining work and travel, he lived in Australia and New Zealand where he refined his carpentry skills and transitioned into roofing.

In 2013, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit flaunched his own roofing and construction business.

During the COVID-19 pandemic Billy and his brother, Pat, discussed a plan for the future. They made a strategic decision to combine their trades i.e. roofing and electrical to move into the Renewable Energy space. And this led to the establishment of Sun Arc Solar.

Billy oversees the strategic direction. He not only has the technical know-how but also a hands-on understanding of the construction industry. His leadership style is demonstrated by a commitment to excellence, a spirit of innovation, and a determination to contribute to a more sustainable future through the power of renewable energy.

Pat Thompson

Director

Pat is also a Director and co-founder here at Sun Arc Solar.

He is an electrician, with over twenty five years experience in all aspects of the trade. He also has many qualifications in the electrical and PV Solar fields.

He has an interest in continuous learning and proudly achieved a first class honours
degree in English and History which he studied for and finished during the downturn in the economy between 2010 and 2015.

He has a real passion for renewable energies and green sustainability
projects.

In his spare time, he enjoys reading, writing, travelling and hiking with my teenage son at the weekends.

Charmaine Walker

Office Manager

Charmaine, our Office Manager, has had an impressive career as an Accountant, Internal Sales Office Administrator, and Secretary. She also has expertise in Infrastructure, Automation Systems Engineering, Climate Controls, and Power Distribution.

Charmaine has developed great relationships with colleagues and customers alike. And she seamlessly transitioned to the Solar PV industry, bringing her extensive background to Sun Arc Solar.

In Sun Arc Solar, Charmaine oversees office operations and she is the glue that holds our solar family together. She ensures our everything we do runs smoothly.

Lee Walker

Lead Roofing Manager

Lee is our Lead Roofing Manager at Sun Arc Solar Systems. After leaving school, he successfully completed his apprenticeship He has since immersed himself in the roofing industry, accumulating over 15 years of invaluable experience.

More recently, Lee’s career has moved into the dynamic world of roofing and renewable energy. As the Lead Roofing Manager at Sun Arc Solar Systems, Lee plays a pivotal role in overseeing the roofing crew, bringing his extensive expertise and enthusiasm to the forefront.

Lee stands out not just for his technical proficiency but also his people-centric approach. He has exceptional interpersonal skills that contribute to a positive working environment as well as successful collaborations with colleagues.

Patric Mackey

Electrician

Paddy is from Sydney, Australia but after meeting his partner in New Zealand he made the move back with her to Ireland in 2021.

He has over 10 years’ experience as an electrician and has worked on residential, commercial, and industrial sites across Australia, New Zealand and Ireland.

When he’s not working you will find him on the rugby pitch with Co Carlow Football Club.
