SEAI Commercial Grant

Up to €162,600

Irish businesses can access significant SEAI funding for commercial solar installations. This is the largest solar grant available in Ireland.

Eligibility

• Registered Irish business
• Commercial property owner or tenant
• Must use an approved installer
• Grid connection required

For Homeowners

SEAI Solar Electricity Grant

Up to €1,800

Government grants are available for homeowners installing solar PV systems on properties built before 2021.

Eligibility

• Property built and occupied before 2021
• Must use an approved installer
• BER assessment required after installation
• Grant paid after installation complete

For Farmers

TAMS 3 Agricultural Grant

Up to 60%

The Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS 3) provides generous funding for agricultural solar installations.

Eligibility

• Registered farmer with valid herd number
• Online application via agfood.ie
• Minimum 6 kWp system size
• Young trained farmers get highest rate

For Businesses

Accelerated Capital Allowance

100% Tax Write-off

Businesses can write off the full cost of solar equipment against taxable profits in Year 1. This can be combined with the SEAI Commercial Grant.

Eligibility

• Registered Irish business
• Equipment on approved energy register
• First-year capital allowance
• Applies to equipment cost only

Sports Capital Grant

€58M Fund

The government's 2026 Community Sport Facilities Fund includes €58 million for sports clubs to upgrade energy infrastructure, including solar panels.
